Our Story

We are a small family-owned apiary and sugar bush located in Monongalia County, WV. We supply natural local honey and small-batch maple and black walnut syrup to north central WV.

We began this venture with the goal of teaching our kids about God's provision in our natural world:

  • The lengthy process of tapping a maple tree on a cold day in February to bottling sweet amber syrup after many hours of boiling demonstrates the complexity of His amazing creation.
  • The explosive buildup of a spring honey bee colony that subsequently produces a hundred pounds of honey relies on an intricately designed food chain.  The success of the honey bee colony is dependent on flowers, trees, water, and weather that are all out of our control.  We can only hope to manage their life cycles with our limited human resources.

We also wanted our kids to understand where their food comes from and how hard farmers work to bring it to the aisles of our grocery stores:

  • The global supply chain is indeed complex, but it all starts with hard work at the ground level.
